Had a great chat with a man who discovered I'm doing research for my documentary about Minton's jazz club in NYC and Teddy Hill. He says there is a move underway to change the name of the street Minton's is on... 118th to Thelonious Monk Way. Very cool!

Hi all,
It might surprise many of you who might remember me from my days as a reporter on Channel 8 in Dallas and as the Exec Producer of Good Morning Texas back in the day... that I have a very solid jazz connection in my family.

To all Females in the Uptown world
Happy Valentine’s Day,
I truly know and understand
Why God made you this way.
You are the reason feelings flow
Through the hearts of many men,
You are the reason we celebrate
This over and over again.
I thank the Lord for the opportunity
To have loved and found true love,
And I realize that this came
Straight from heaven above.
So to all…

Being a Dallas native I love it when our own homegrown events are done right. After a long week of work on our thing here at Uptown Jazz Dallas, I was looking forward to the 25th Annual Taste of Dallas at Fair Park.
