Old school vibe & modern feel. Darryl Anthony was born in Texas and moved to New York at the age of five. Living near Woodstock had a tremendous influence on Darryl's artistic & creative development. The mountains, surrounding landscape and free spirited people were a source of creative inspiration and reflection. Art and Design were a part of Darryl's youth which lead to an interest in playing guitar. Eventually Darryl relocated to New York City and embraced the vibrant, stimulating, diverse culture. After many years in NYC Darryl returned to Texas where he focused on oil painting and design. Following the pattern of his youth he returned to playing guitar and writing songs. Darryl's musical influences include many styles ranging from R&B, Rock, Folk, Jazz, Funk and Fusion. Unwilling to be "boxed in" Darryl writes songs that reflect a free and curious mind. The new album entitled "Free One" was written, recorded and produced by Darryl Anthony. Not letting go of his art & design roots Darryl also created the album cover and CD graphics. The songs were mastered by studio engineer CJ Jacobs in Florida. This EP includes various styles ranging from rock, funk, fusion instrumentals to acoustic/vocals. The full range of emotions is captured in this debut album. Enjoy the ride.
