Communicating Jazz:

With Jazz Around Town, UJD will be checking out various places in DFW doing jazz, among other things. They'll be rated on the Jazz Scale:

(1) Poor, (2) Decent Set, (3) Liked It, (4) Jazzed Up, (5) JazzMaster Set!

Sandaga 813 - Rating (5) JazzMaster Set

Arguably the best jazz jam set in the metroplex belongs to Sandaga 813. Dallas Observer's 2013 Best Jazz Club winner is rated #5 - Jazz Master Set status because of the longstanding commitment to jazz artistry. Every Tuesday you can look forward to the area's top musicians stopping in to 'just jam'. It's a longtime program established by venue co-owner Darryl Thomas who has been an advocate for Dallas jazz and education for over a two decades.

Located at 813 Exposition Ave in Dallas just outside of the Dallas Fair Park north entrance, it's just doors down from another Jazz Master Set presenter, The Amsterdam - Monday nights (see Jazz Around Town for their review). Sandaga has a great sound system with intimate lighting. And, their outdoor patio is wide and spacious. It's a great place to gather with friends or bring a date. A real date! Admission is just $5 for witnessing some of the best jazz Dallas has in it's ranks. It's a steal!

Sandaga 813 aka Sandaga Jazz is a true "Jazz Master Set"

As with every Jazz Around Town stop, video highlights are forthcoming and will be in the Video Section and UJD's YouTube channel.
