If you take the train from Dakar to Bamako, leaving in the morning, you will reach
Tambacounda around midnight. This is where the train picks up more passengers
going from The Gambia to Mali's capitol, Bamako. When I rode the train we stopped
in Tambacounda and even though the day's heat had not dissipated (it must have been 90 degrees) there was flurry of activity, various food merchants holding up their
trays so that passengers get buy a snack or some cold water thru the trains windows.
