“Jazz Legends and Rising Stars” - The Best and Brightest of the Young Guns share the stage with Legendary Veterans of Texas Jazz
Opening Group: Jazzmeia Horn makes her Sammons Jazz debut with her band “The Artistry of Jazz Horn.” Catch this rising star, hailed as the hottest young singer among jazz vocalists. She interprets jazz classics made famous by Sarah Vaughn, Betty Carter and other Jazz Greats. She is joined by Roger Boykin on keyboard, Braylon Lacy on bass, and Jason Thomas on drums.
Second Set: Riggs/Slater Jazz Quartet brings together two Jazz Legends with James Riggs on saxophone and Neil Slater on the piano. This accomplished group will feature a set lushly filled with beautiful jazz standards and audience favorites. They are joined by Jeff Eckles on bass, and Nolan Byrd on drums.
