Local musicians are featured at The Winter Solstice Celebration on Dec. 16 presented by the Labyrinth Walk Coffee House. There is no charge for admission or parking. Donations are welcome Children must be accompanied by adults.
Cat McGee has a spirited voice and "a mean right hand" in the words of Lloyd Maines. She has been compared to Joan Armatrading, Natalie Merchant, Joni Mitchell, and the Indigo Girls. She has been creating music since she was a wee lass. John Mason performed with several bands in southern California during the 1970’s & 80’s. He relocated to Grand Prairie and now performs locally. Drums Not Guns is a non-profit group dedicated to promoting peace through the power of percussion. Drums Not Guns seeks to provide at risk youths with alternatives to gangs and a model of cooperative problem solving and interaction.
