LaLa Jay and Friends presents the music of Ella Fitzgerald
Singing since a very young age, LaLa J was born and raised on gospel, groomed in R&B, and classically trained, but she finds real comfort in the ingenuity that is demanded by jazz. LaLa J has caught the attention of many people in the music industry through her work with various songwriters, producers, and musicians and has been featured in a number of collaborative efforts. Her command of the voice as an instrument can be readily appreciated in her performance tribute to singing legend Ella Fitzgerald.
Known for her notable interpretation of the Great American Songbook, Ella Fitzgerald had an impeccably sophisticated rhythmic sense and flawless intonation. These great musical abilities, gaining Fitzgerald the nicknames “Lady Ella” and “First Lady of Song,” also garnered her thirteen Grammy Awards and dozens of other awards and recognitions over her fifty-nine-year recording career.
