We are looking for a new kind of rhythmic community, and we are looking for people who are interested in being a part of it. The classic drum jam model of 30 djembes sitting around pounding out 16th notes makes for a fun party, but there’s so much more potential to a gathering of drummers. I feel that rhythm has its own version of melody, tension and release. There’s so much space in between the notes that we can explore.
