Bassist Christopher Dean Sullivan is well traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad.
He is the recipient of various New York State Congress, Senate Proclamation,
Assembly and Municipality Arts awards, as well as the recipient of the New York State Council of the Arts Champion for the Arts Award.
He has shared the stage in performance, and/or recorded, with Archie Schepp, Sheila Jordan, Yusef Lateef, Odean Pope,
Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Jordan, Sonny Fortune, Horace Parlan, Irene Reid, Charli Persip, Sonny Simmons, Jeff Watts
Joe Lovano, Geri Allen, just to name a few.
He is on a myriad of CD releases.
The latest releases, is a co-produced by pianist/keyboardist Bob Gluck and Christopher Dean Sullivan,
INFINITE SPIRIT: Revisiting Music of the Mwandishi Band (FMR).
The project includes two alumni of Herbie Hancock's seminal project,
Eddie Henderson, and Billy Hart, and Thread (Kastan Records) a collaborative two CD trio release with a free improvisation approach.
Chris has Performed and recorded in two, or more, bass ensembles including performing and radio recording with Henry Grimes (WKCR),
shared recording with Israel “Cachao” Lopez (JO KASO Music ASCAP), and CD Poet release “E.J. Antonio: Rituals from the marrow: Recipe for a jam session” ( BlueZygo Records).
This release both Christopher Dean Sullivan and Christian McBride performs together.
Chris has been working and touring his own ensemble projects over the past few years.
He brings with him, on occasion, some of his music colleagues and constituents such as, Mala Waldron, Jon Faddis,
multi-Grammy nominee drummer Bobby Sanabria, Steve Nelson, and others.
